Description: Nonactin from Streptomyces Griseus:   a mixture of the two homolog macrotetrolide antibiotics: Nonactin, Monactin. The Nonactin is not less than 80%, ballanced by Monactin only. The mixture does not contain Dinactin, Trinactin, Tetranactin.

Nonactin batches released since May 2010 are better than 95% Nonactin by NMR; detailed information is available on request

ApplicationsNonactin has an  inhibitory effects on the P170 glycoprotein-mediated efflux of chemotherapeutic agents in multiple-drug-resistant cancer cells.

Nonactin,  a natural mixture of macrotetrolides, was used in agriculture under the name trade POLYNACTIN.

Nonactin has been reported to specifically inhibit the processing of cytoplasmic precursor proteins destined for the mitochondria.

Nonactin is used in urea and ammonium specific electrodes.
