Fermentek and the mad cow.

Some of our products are manufactured using beef extract and some other animal products. We only use absolutely safe products. These  come from major  manufacturers who use beef from "safe" countries only. A satisfactory "Certificate of Origin" can be given to any client who asks for.

Glossary

TSE:
Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy: A family of fatal diseases caused by prions. Characterized by dementia, and holes in the brain on autopsy. Can be transmitted between mammals when one mammal eats parts of the nervous system of another mammal.

BSE:
Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy: The official name for Mad Cow Disease - the TSE found in cattle.

Prion
 
Recently discovered infectious agent. Prion is neither a virus nor a bacterium, but an infectious protein which can induce a chain reaction which destroys nerve cells. Prions cannot be destroyed by most sterilization methods

CJD
Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease: A human TSE.
